| Presented by Shasta Community Concert Series,The New Christy Minstrels was the very first of the big folk groups in the '60s. It was the invention of Randy Sparks, who still leads the group today. That's unheard of continuity. Further, there are five ORIGINAL MINSTRELS, the very same performers who helped to achieve world-wide success in 1962-'64, still dazzling audiences on a nightly basis. These five originals have been augmented by younger entertainers to achieve the same identifiable NCM sound that has thrilled folks who care about singable melodies and memorable words for generations. The restored group has broken attendance records in several prestigious theaters, and has never appeared in concert without a standing ovation. They not only offer a wonderful show, they promise it.
